Our Neighborhood
Kansas City bills itself as the "Heart of America." The city is famous for its stockyards, mafia, and some of the best barbecue in the world. The city also has more working fountains (for those of you counting it is 212) than any city but Rome, giving Kansas City its second nickname: "The City of Fountains."
The Aladdin is located in the heart of Kansas City's business, government and theater districts. Corporate guests and conventioneers find that our location, adjacent to the Kansas City Convention Center, is ideal. Other businesses in the area include H&R Block World Headquarters, Hallmark Cards, and HNTB.
Guests staying at our historical property don't want to miss a trip to the Power and Light Entertainment District. Located just 2 blocks away, you will find 14 high energy nightspots, restaurants, and the Sprint Center Arena. The Country Club Plaza located 3 miles south of the Aladdin was the first outdoor shopping center in the country and is home to over 120 shops.
Guests to the area are sure to want to visit the fully restored, 1914 Union Station, once the third busiest train terminal in the United States. This gorgeous landmark, now housing a children's science museum and a live theatre, is just a mile and a half from the Aladdin.
Musicians and jazz aficionados will certainly not want to miss the American Jazz Museum. It was at the corner of 18th and Vine where saxophone player, Charlie "Bird" Parker met John Coltrane. "Where the Bird met the Trane" is now the location of the American Jazz Museum and Negro League Baseball Museum.
When visiting Kansas City, the Aladdin hotel is the ideal choice for hotel accommodations. You'll be convenient to all that Kansas City has to offer.
